Real vehicle changes are not available in this version. A completed practice is not proof of compatibility.
1 · Practice the process
Pick a situation and see how the planned safety workflow behaves. All results are generated from demonstration data.
Choose a situation, then run the practice.
2 · Why live programming is locked
Every item below requires real evidence. Importing an old configuration file or identifying the BCM does not complete them.
Our real-world test plan · what we have actually verified
We will deliberately schedule new parked-vehicle tests after the battery has been checked. Bench/recovery validation must precede any live modification.
The first possible candidate is Disable Double Honk, but only if an exact 2021 ST / BCM firmware-specific recipe, original backup and recovery method are validated independently.
Offline practice only.
Safety & Validation Center
See what has been reported, what is still missing, and why programming stays locked.
Reports are historical observations, not proof of a current connection. A simulation or imported file can never unlock vehicle programming.
1 · Review read-only evidence
Optional: use the privacy-safe JSON files saved during your last connection. Files stay in memory; no server upload.
No reports imported.
Optional voltage what-if (not a battery test)
Enter a hypothetical key-on, engine-off adapter reading. The earlier 11.4 V observation was low, but these reports do not contain a voltage measurement and cannot verify battery health.
No vehicle communication on this page.
2 · Live programming requirements
Each requirement needs independent hardware validation. None is complete yet; no user setting or upload overrides this.
An exported backup package is not a restore image. Keep original FORScan backups separately.
3 · Compare exported reports
Spot missing or conflicting records before planning another parked-car test.
What do the status labels mean?
REPORTED means an imported file records an observation, not an independent hardware approval. NOT VERIFIED means required proof is missing. PAUSE IN DEMO is a hypothetical safety warning.
4 · Practice a safety failure
Choose a simulated problem to see why the planned workflow stops. No actual recovery occurs.
Development build · No OBD, CAN write commands, security access, module reset or automatic recovery in this center.
Connect & modules
About vehicle connectionsExplore supported connection routes. On compatible Windows browsers, you can attempt a read-only OBDLink MX+ connection. A user-initiated, read-only Ford module identification experiment is available for supported MX+ serial connections; no configuration data is read or changed.Connect your MX+ or explore the module map. For live vehicle communication, use START_HERE_Live_Connection.bat in Windows Chrome/Edge; the offline file preview only supports Demo.
Vehicle Test Center
One simple checklist for your next parked-car test. Auto-updates from the existing read-only connection; no vehicle writes.
Before returning to the car: The earlier 11.4 V reading was with ignition on and engine off. Check resting battery condition independently and charge/test if needed. Do not attempt Ford module scans with low or unstable power.
The field test report is a .json checklist and diagnostic summary, not a vehicle backup. The printable worksheet is for handwritten notes. Check reports before sharing.
Nothing is sent to the cloud. Export only when you're ready to share.
Technical details & testing limits
Basic sensor reads are Mode 01 PIDs 0C, 05, 0D, 0F, 04 and adapter ATRV; VIN year comes from Mode 09 PID 02. The separate MX+ channel check uses adapter-only presets 33 and 53. The conservative BCM identifier probe uses a fixed read-only request, and does not access configuration blocks. IPC/APIM gateway paths and door-module routes remain unverified. Imported backups and manual checkboxes do not establish a restorable configuration. Use the existing module scan consent and only when battery power is stable.
No live ECU programming supported.

Connect to your Edge
Windows Chrome/Edge · Read-only.OBD connection detailsWindows Chrome/Edge first. Demo mode works anywhere. Only adapter-identification commands and standard OBD-II reads are permitted. No programming, DTC clearing, As-Built reads or configuration writes.
Connection steps
Park outdoors or in a well-ventilated location, keep in Park, and use ignition on per vehicle requirements. Do not drive while using the app.
Plug in the OBDLink MX+, pair it in Windows Bluetooth settings using the adapter's Pair button, then return here.
Open this site in Chrome/Edge over HTTPS or localhost. Click Connect and choose the paired OBDLink serial port. Grant permission only to a site you trust.
Reconnect requires a user click; no automatic reconnect and no vehicle programming.
No verified current link
Not connected. Live VIN, adapter identification and basic sensor readings have been confirmed on one 2021 Edge ST; advanced module probing remains experimental.
More about vin privacy: VIN privacy*VIN year is derived from a standard VIN pattern; it does not identify Edge trim or validate your active Garage profile. VIN is not saved, exported, or sent to a server. Module identification uses a separate opt-in step.

Discover Ford modules (read-only experiment)
Check adapter channels, then identify modules.About module discoveryChoose a BCM baseline check or a focused MS-CAN door test using a restricted read-only identification query. This is an experimental, voluntary diagnostic probe , not a complete Ford network scan. A separate FORScan inventory confirms the presence of additional modules on HS-CAN3 and MS-CAN. This prototype does not implement Ford gateway routing, so no reply is not evidence of absence; a response does not validate a customization.
Connect the adapter to check its presets.
Connection health & session evidence
Previously confirmed · November 6, 2026: OBDLink MX+ r3.1.3, a masked 2021 vehicle VIN, live RPM/coolant/voltage, HS-CAN and MS-CAN adapter presets, and a sender-verified BCM ID. These are historical test results, not proof of the current connection or access to other modules.
This-session indicators below only become confirmed after real adapter responses. Simulation is always labeled. IPC/APIM gateway routing and DDM/PDM access remain unverified.
Session report: app version, all six gauge availability statuses, monitoring outcome and what responded during this connection. Combined snapshot: session results plus diagnostic status. Both are privacy-masked .json evidence reports, not configuration backups.
Connect the adapter or use Demo to populate a new in-memory report. No VIN or raw module data is exported.
Connection details
Download JSON saves a diagnostic route assessment: which checks ran, replied, or were skipped. It cannot program or restore a module.
Verify Ford network access in FORScan
On this 2021 Edge ST, the OBDLink MX+ confirmed adapter presets 33 and 53. The BCM replied, but DDM and PDM did not. A preset does not prove a direct vehicle network path. Ford service-network descriptions reference GWM diagnostic routing. Do not infer a defective module from NO DATA.
Before repeating experimental door probes, connect with FORScan by itself and capture a read-only vehicle module inventory. Then compare the actual DDM/PDM module presence and network names. No guessing CAN addresses or sending manual diagnostic commands.
The packet uses only this browser session's sanitized results. The guide works without a vehicle connection.
Before a read-only module check
Start with the conservative BCM check. These checks prepare a bounded identification request—not a configuration backup, gateway scan, or permission to program.
Battery condition cannot be verified by the app. Voltage warnings remain visible but do not automatically disable read-only checks. With low voltage, turn ignition off and recharge before extended testing. Vehicle programming remains disabled.
Network-aware mode does not attempt unverified gateway routes.
Connect the OBDLink MX+ or enter Demo mode to begin.
More about scan report privacy: Scan report privacyIdentifiers are displayed only when the returned value resembles a standard part number. Raw diagnostic traffic, VIN, and adapter identifiers are never included in exported scan summaries. Results are not stored between sessions.

About Config VaultAutomatic backup and recovery are planned for verified vehicle customizations. The current beta keeps offline file inspection available as an optional advanced research tool; no customer is required to use FORScan.Your originals, protected automatically—inside Edge Config Lab.
Backups without the busywork.
When we release verified module programming, Edge Config Lab will create and check a backup before changing anything. It will also verify the result and provide an in-app recovery path. You will not need FORScan, manual .ABT files, or another diagnostic application.
Current beta: Live module backups and restore are not available yet. You do not need to prepare files to explore the app or try read-only connection features.
Optional advanced offline file inspector (development/research only)
Legacy files and manual import tools are here for engineering comparisons. They are not required by customers and do not perform vehicle backups or restore.
What is a backup file?
A backup is a saved copy of vehicle configuration information. You keep it before making a change so you have a record of the original settings. This app cannot yet read or restore a vehicle configuration directly.
Which file should I use?
A Ford .AB or FORScan .ABT file comes from your diagnostic source. Keep it unchanged in a safe folder. Import a copy here to inspect it.
.json private packages and individual snapshots can be imported back into this app. They can include raw configuration data, so keep them private. They are not vehicle restore files.
Privacy-safe .json reports summarize counts or test results without raw configuration bytes. A .csv difference report opens in Excel and shows changed rows; neither file can program a vehicle.
Backup Readiness
See exactly what is saved, then keep a separate private copy. No live module reads or vehicle changes.
Keep an independent copy
Need to keep your imported files for later? Download a private archive. Want to show someone an overview instead? Download the shareable summary.
Private archive: Reopen your imported files later in Edge Config Lab. Includes raw settings; keep it private. Not a car restore file.
Shareable summary: File counts and module groups only, without raw configuration rows. Review before sending.
The private package may contain sensitive identifiers within raw bytes. Store it securely; never post it publicly.

Guided backup checklist
Preserve originals; compare before using any external tool.Backup and recovery checklistOriginal: Preserve the .ABT that your diagnostic tool read from your own module. Archive: Export an Edge Config Lab JSON copy for reviewing here. A SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded when secure browser cryptography is available. Compare: Look for changed, added, and removed rows. Identical bytes do not prove that modules are interchangeable. Restore: This release can only explain the concept. Never write a file to your vehicle without validated module and software compatibility. Professional recovery may be needed after a failed write.
Spot differences before making any changes
What is this download? A spreadsheet showing which saved rows changed, were added, or were removed. Open it in Excel or similar. It is not a file for programming a vehicle.
Guided customization
About guided customizationAn illustrated preview of the eventual one-app experience. No FORScan or manual configuration-file exports are planned for customers. When verified programming is available, Edge Config Lab will handle the technical steps.
Connect. Choose. Customize.
No FORScan, .ABT file handling, hex editing, or manual backup checklists will be required for the finished customer workflow.
Current beta: Browse research and test read-only vehicle connections. Automatic module backup, applying a change, and restoration are still in development.
Prepare your first modification test
FORScan identified both candidate modules on this vehicle. That is not proof of a working configuration change. Start by collecting and comparing original read-only backups. No module writes are available here.
Preparation checklist — manually reported
Programming remains disabled.
Never upload original .ABT files to a public repository or share unredacted VINs. Manual checkmarks, external FORScan reads and offline diffs do not grant programming clearance. Do not press Write, Load or Restore during baseline collection.
As-Built Verification Bench
Read-only preparation for the feature selected above. Import two separately captured FORScan module files and compare their original contents. Optional third file previews differences from an independently obtained snapshot. No data leaves this browser and no changes are sent to your vehicle.
No files selected.
Safety-stop simulation (no vehicle connection)
Try failure cases to verify that the staged readiness model refuses to proceed; it does not demonstrate ECU write or restore functionality.
Virtual end-to-end modification test
Practice Identify → Backup → Preview → Apply → Readback → Restore using only a synthetic JavaScript object. Even a passing virtual test is NOT approval to program your Edge.
Important: Two matching files could be copies of one read. The original files still require independently verified capture, module firmware match, a validated recovery procedure, and an approved feature-specific recipe before any write is considered. This page contains no write controls.
Choose a customization
One-tap customization
When a feature is verified for your exact module, the app will back up its existing settings, show you the change, apply it with confirmation, and check the result. No separate FORScan workflow will be required. What is required before programmingBefore enabling any vehicle write, we'll require exact module identification, firmware-specific validation, an independently verified recipe and working backup/restore procedures.
This beta does not write to any modules or alter your existing PCM tune.

Engineering test · BdyCM direct read-only data candidate
BdyCM candidate data double-read
This developer experiment requests one fixed read-only UDS identifier (22 DE00) twice through the already-connected MX+. Its meaning on a 2021 Edge ST BdyCM has not been verified; DE00 is documented for certain Ford APIM configurations, not proven for this BCM. The two responses are compared locally and immediately discarded.
This is not a complete As-Built read, backup, restore image, coding recipe, programming test or evidence that a modification is safe. No VIN, raw bytes or module identifiers are saved or uploaded.
Optional: compare one live candidate to two local FORScan originals
For engineering only: choose both original BdyCM .ABT files. The two files must match. This uses the same ONE fixed 22 DE00 request twice and checks whether its 10-byte reply equals the checksum-excluded first block from your files. The mapping is a hypothesis, not proof of a full configuration read. File contents and reply bytes remain in this browser session and are discarded; no cloud sync or export.
Existing files on your laptop are never modified. Results show match / no match only. Do not share raw configuration files publicly.
Complete the Connect & Modules preflight and confirm the BdyCM identification first.
